Classrooms should no longer be bound by physical spaces, collaboration, creativity and communication should be the core objectives.
Teachers no longer need to be the providers of information or even instruction. Following the ‘flipped classroom’ model these can be provided by watching videos from the Khan Academy or creating lessons through APPs such as Showme. This frees the teacher to do much more interesting things in the classroom such as solving challenges and real project based work to stretch and consolidate the students understanding.
Blooms can also be flipped so that the model starting with remembering and understanding instead starts from creating, then by evaluation and analysis comes the ore knowledge and understanding. Theus, the student’s role becomes primarily active and in charge of their own learning, the teachers role becomes one of challenging, guiding and assessment of learning.
